New default theme, post embeds, responsive images and more! It’s no secret that we love WordPress; we’ve even created a web hosting package tailored specifically for our fellow WordPress lovers. If you happen to enjoy our Premium WordPress Hosting, you may have noticed a few changes on your WordPress dashboard.
“Version 4.4 of WordPress, named “Clifford” in honor of jazz trumpeter Clifford Brown, is available for download or update in your WordPress dashboard. New features in 4.4 make your site more connected and responsive. Clifford also introduces a new default theme, Twenty Sixteen.” -WordPress
Clifford was created in response to an increasingly responsive internet. So many users are accessing the web from their mobile phones and tablets that it only makes sense to be sure that your website looks amazing, no matter what size of screen.
Oh and if you are wondering who Clifford Brown was, you can have a little taste here.
WordPress has also released their newest default theme ‘Twenty Sixteen’, what WordPress calls “a modern take on a classic blog design”. The theme is crisp and clean, directing all the focus on the important part: your content. The ‘Twenty Sixteen’ theme will be seamless on any device, ensuring your content will be available to readers on any device.
Your posts can now be embedded directly into another WordPress website with just a URL. Once you have entered the URL you can preview the post, including title, excerpt and featured image. WordPress has even included site icons and links back to your page for easy sharing and comments.
You may have already noticed these WordPress improvements, but if not you can find the update available within your dashboard. Just log into your WordPress website as the administrator and click on the “WordPress 4.4 “Clifford”” link as seen below to get started.
