Why are Hosting Accounts Hacked/Compromised?

Hosting accounts are hacked for a variety of reasons. Most commonly we see that a hack is for: 

• Create malicious/phishing pages in order to collect visitor information (passwords, etc)
• Spread viruses or malware
• Send spam email
• Personal achievement of attacker
