To setup Mail Client on a Mac
Click The mail icon from the toolbar

In the Account Information tab select IMAP unless you are on a windows server, then select POP3 and enter the following information:

Account Information

  • Description: your name
  • Incoming Mail Server:
  • User Name:
  • Password: ****

Leave the defaults for Incoming mail security. It should be password authentication and SSL disabled or not checked.

  • Description: your name
  • Outgoing Mail Server:

Click "Use Authentication"

  • User Name:
  • Password: ****
    Leave the defaults for Incoming mail security

Click Create to save the new account settings

*The User Name and Password above is what you created within cPanel on the "Email Accounts" page. The general email settings that should be used are below.


Incoming Server:
Incoming Port: 110 (for POP3), 143 (for IMAP) without SSL
Outgoing Server:
Outgoing Port: 25 or 2626 (without SSL enabled)
Username: (full e-mail address)
Secure Password Authentication:  No
Outgoing Server Requires Authentication: Yes
