Should I Keep A Local Copy Of My Website In Case Of Trouble

In a word: Absolutely! It is very easy to spend all night working hard on upgrading your site only to hit the wrong key or have someone else overwrite your changes. Better safe than sorry!

You can easily create a backup of your files, databases, email forwarders (aliases), and email filters in cPanel > Backup or cPanel > Backup Wizard.

We highly recommend that you take regular backups of your account as well as downloading and storing backups of the server.

We do take daily (24-hour) backups of all Shared Hosting accounts and store them temporarily for our use in case of a catastrophic failure. Because of this, we do have the ability to offer a restoration service for your account at an extra charge. We usually have backups of accounts for 3-5 days after they are taken.

Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that the contents of an account will never be deleted or corrupted, or that a backup of an account will always be available, accurate, or complete. The account owner has sole responsibility for undertaking measures to maintain independent archival and backup copies of their account content, and for checking the accuracy of their website hosted by us regularly. We have the right, but not the obligation, to make backup copies of the data you upload to our servers.

If you would like to see if a backup of your account is available and can be restored, please contact Shared Technical Support on our Contact Form. Please be sure to include details about when you need data restored.
