Twelve Days of Christmas “12 Drummers Drumming”
Beginning December 13th, Midphase is going to walk you through the Twelve Days of Christmas for maximum holiday excitement. Our first gift analysis begins with 12 Drummers Drumming.
Midphase takes the holiday season seriously. From Holiday Competitions with amazing prizes to terrific deals for the season of giving, we have got your web hosting holiday spirit covered. To encourage the Christmas spirit we are breaking down the Twelve days of Christmas day by day. We’ve done all the hard math and we have the formula to amp up the holiday to 11.
In the time-tested classic “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, a sweet someone gifts his true love an obscene number of gifts in an attempt to court her all the way to the altar. Now we aren’t here to criticize his gift selection (although we are confused by all the birds) but we are willing to celebrate the process.
Now the twelve days of Christmas traditionally starts on Christmas Day and works towards the New Year – or specifically Epiphany – but we can’t wait that long. Our plan is to work backwards and up to Christmas Day to build the ultimate suspense for Santa’s arrival. And our first set of gifts to tackle is the Twelve Drummers Drumming.
Research shows that the Twelve Drummers Drumming actually comes from a religious background, suggesting that they represent the twelve points of doctrine in the Apostles’ Creed. That’s all well and fine but personally I was looking for something with a little more zip. So I offer to you my version of twelve drummers drumming.
Here are my top twelve favorite drummers and video of them drumming…. Now that rocks!
- John Bonham from Led Zeppelin
- Carter Beauford from Dave Matthews Band
- Keith Moon from The Who
- Ringo Starr from the Beatles
- Ginger Baker from Cream
- Neal Peart from Rush
- David Grohl from The Foo Fighters/Nirvana
- QuestLove from The Roots
- Nick Mason from Pink Floyd
- Buddy Rich (was so good he doesn’t need a from)
- Brad Wilk from Rage Against the Machine
- Stephen Perkins from Jane’s Addiction
In conclusion, I must add that if someone gifted me these highly skilled individuals and all their snare and bass pedal glory I would most definitely let him put a ring on my finger.
Happy Twelfth Day of Christmas from Midphase!
