WordPress is a blog publishing system written in PHP and backed by a MySQL database. WordPress is the official successor of b2\cafelog, developed by Michel Valdrighi. The name WordPress was suggested by Christine Selleck, a friend of lead developer Matt Mullenweg. The latest release of WordPress at this time is version 3.1, on February 23, 2011. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License.

If you have a Linux server, you can install the latest version using Softaculous within your cPanel. If you are using a Windows server you will have to manually install Wordpress. If you are using Wordpress, be sure to keep your version and plugins up to date to prevent compromise.
